I haven't had a Christmas tree of my own since the divorce, several years ago, but I finally decided to get a small, tabletop-sized one this year. I was out shopping yesterday and was cruising through Target when I noticed that they were selling their artificial trees at clearance, and that the display models were 75% off of that. The smallest one (3') was wobbly on its stand, its branches were bent... the artificial version of a Charlie Brown tree. I had to have it.
I was encouraged in this purchase by the gift of a co-worker; she said that she had this Christmas ornament that she didn't want and wanted to know if I would be interested... and pulled out a Klingon Bird of Prey. I don't have many ornaments, but my favorites are some of the Star Trek ornaments in the shape of starships, that plug into a standard Christmas light socket. I'd always kicked myself for not getting the Klingon ship. So, even though it's only two days to Christmas, I went ahead and set it up:

I may leave it up year round.
