Science fair projects. Obviously, some kids are deliberately going for the funny, and the girls behind "The Right Wipe" (?) have coordinated their T-shirts with the background of their poster presentation, so maybe they get points for that. Still, it's bizarre that hugging, aspirin, and multitools are banned from schools on the basis that they're (respectively) sex, drugs, and weapons, but some kids get away with projects like "Crystal Meth: Friend or Foe?" and "Extreme Wood."

When I was back in Sydney two years ago, my kids and I were walking through the Botanical Gardens and underneath the big glass pyramid greenhouses they have a garden bed, and they often use the plants there to spell out the name of the current exhibit. So I was a little startled to see the words 'SEX + DEATH' spelled out in the garden bed. You can it here:

That's brilliant. If some botanical garden tried that in the US, they'd probably have fundamentalists picketing them.
