Rites of Spring

I took the mighty Gamera out for the first time this spring, earlier this evening, and whoo boy I tell you that there are muscles that get used on the bike that don't get used in the gym, or at least that much. Some of it is Peoria's rolling topography, too. Went to a bike store to look at their helmet selection, since it's time for a new one, and--don't laugh now--I may have to drive out to the big-box sporting-goods store out on the edge of town to see if their helmet selection is any better. It's hard to find one that I like, in a color that I like, in my size, which is extra-large (or large if it's decently adjustable). Here's hoping for good, moderate weather well into June.

I also wore shorts--like real clothes shorts as opposed to gym or lounging-around shorts--for the first time this year, and they were way too big. Heh. Time to shop for a smaller pair.
