Fire in my apartment building last night, about half-past midnight. I had just gone to bed and was pretty pissed off when the alarm went off--I thought, thanks a lot for burning shit on the stove at this time of night, whoever you are, asshole. Then it kept going on and I stuck my nose outside my door and it didn't smell like burnt food, so I threw on some clothes and grabbed my keys so that I could stay warm in my car. Luckily, no one was hurt, even by smoke inhalation, and damage to the apartment (sort of kitty-corner from mine) seemed to be minor. There was a minor bit of drama when someone's dog ran back into the building before the alarm was turned off, though.
