Down the Memory Hole II: FedEx Boogaloo
Sep. 16th, 2008 03:38 pmSo, I ordered a Mac mini to supplement my current desktop at home. I spring for overnight delivery because it's not that much extra. I get notified yesterday that it's shipping: hurrah!
Today, I click on the link for the FedEx tracking number and it's supposed to have arrived at the local FedEx depot across the river in East Peoria, which means that it should arrive here (at work) sometime today. After a decent (that is, unbearable) interval, I go down to Receiving, and the package isn't there; I waste about five minutes of someone else's time because he's looking everywhere for it.
I come back to the library, refresh the FedEx page... which shows the package still in Memphis, all the "Arrived" info just gone with the wind. WTF?
Now, in addition to wondering why it would still be at the Super-Hub down there (I moonlit there for a few months back in the day, so I have some pretty horrific ideas as to what might have happened to it), I have to wonder... why did it show it being delivered here originally? I swear, I'll have to start screenshotting their site any time that I order anything that passes through their hands.
