Barry Cloyd and Celtricity
Jan. 14th, 2007 11:14 pmA band I saw last night:
They were playing at a local nature center that had a nice open space for a small band and audience. Kind of folk/Celtic/blues with a few pop tunes mixed in--started out with "Riders on the Storm". Good music, not quite good enough to warrant buying a CD, but Cloyd is a very talented player. Had a couple of guitars that had finely carved wooden inserts in the soundhole, like a lute. The other members played violin and mandolin; the percussionist had a djembe, among other things. All in all, probably one of the best $6 shows I've seen, although I've also seen some pretty damn good concerts for free.
