Maybe it's an American thing? Our empire is eating itself, and we still get these 50-question "what's your favorite Transformer" quizzes. That horrible dissonance between the reality of our lives and the version that presents itself on teh intarwebs.
I think that it was a shock to me because I'd come to some sort of peace with the reality of the post-election trauma, and then someone comes along and yanks the scab off again. I know that I've joked about it, but seriously, Christine, I've been looking at help wanted ads for librarians in Canada.
