I went through the I-never-wore-a-helmet-as-a-kid-so-why-should-I-now thing when I started riding regularly in graduate school, but I came around, in part because of the ever-deadly SUV/cellphone combo, something that really didn't exist when I was young. I've only been in one accident where the helmet prevented an injury, and I don't know how bad it would have been otherwise, but...
